Don's Cycle Trail Report - CMATVA Rides the AOAA Trails

July the 4th weekend 33 machines from the Central Mountains ATV Association (CMATVA) saddled up to ride in Northumberland County, Pa at the AOAA Trails.

Riders will find beautiful vistas like this at the AOAA.

The CMATVA is a 1500 member strong ATV association based out of the Lock Haven area in Central Pa. that rides twice a month every month. This group is a strong force in creating trail riding opportunities in Pa and continues to fight for our rights to ride.

The founding fathers if you will of the AOAA have a deep history in the area and it was some 20 years ago when a small group of riders had a vision to bring a legal and maintained riding area to Northumberland County. Due to theirs and many others diligent efforts today riders can enjoy over 6500 acres to explore in just about any type of off-road vehicle. The AOAA allows motorcycles, ATV's and Side by Sides as well as full size off road trucks, jeeps and rock crawlers.

Located less than three hours from New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington DC, the AOAA offers a safe haven for riders from all over the East Coast.

Varying terrains can be found at the AOAA and there is trail riding available for all skill levels. Maps are available and the trails are well marked. Guides are also available for groups to enjoy a day at the park.

Our group had a great day spending about five hours out on the trails. A few machine malfunctions cut down our typical mileage for the day but that is one of the benefits of joining the association. Not only the camaraderie but no man , women or machine gets left behind. We function as a unit to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience.

Better yet, join us for our upcoming Poker Run and ride some of the trail system we are helping to expand and help us raise a little dough to make that happen.

We wanted to throw a big shout out to Dons Cycle in Hellam, Pa

They put us in this Kawasaki Teryx 800 LE with EPS for our ride at the AOAA.

This machine performed great and I would recommend that anyone thinking about a new machine to put this on your list. The machine offered plenty of power from its 800 V - twin power plant and comes equipped with Fox Podium Shocks to get you thru those PA rock gardens.

Matter of fact this machine was a clean pre owned unit with only 160 miles on and is still available from the staff at Dons Cycle. They offer machines from Kawasaki and Polaris plus a slew of personal watercraft and motorcycles for your riding pleasure.
